The Voices of Mentees: Holistic Critical Mentoring of TRIO Students, Rev. Michael A. Hunt
Mentoring is often seen as a one-way relationship where the mentees learn from their mentors. However, when supporting First Generation minoritized undergraduate scholars, it is imperative that their voices are centered. This project honors the voices of the mentees by interviewing McNair Scholars exploring their understanding of and desires for mentoring while validating the need for holistic critical mentoring, a network of power-dynamic-flipped, mentee-centered, reciprocal relationships expanded to include all mentorships.
Program Evaluation Made Simple, Corris Davis
This presentation will explore program evaluation in TRIO Programs. The workshop will begin with an examination of terms related to evaluation, and then examine the statutory requirements for each project. The role of the logic model will be discussed. Attendees will also think about questions evaluation could be used to answer beyond the those required by the regulations.
